Konsta Myrick - 5th Degree Black Belt

Konsta Myrick began his formal training in 1987 under Master Rudolph Muhammad. Mr. Myrick graduated from the University of Missouri - Columbia in 2003 and conducted Martial Arts classes through the Student Recreational Services while attending school. Mr. Myrick has also taught Martial Arts for Young Champion's of America. In addition to his Chung Do Kwan training, Mr. Myrick has had the privilege of studying other forms of Martial Arts including Kali and Gung Fu. In June, 2005, Mr. Myrick had the honor of receiving his 4th Dan certification from Sabu Nim Yong Taek Chung, his Teacher’s Teacher.

Currently, Mr. Myrick is the head instructor of the Outland Martial Arts club, located at the Cleaver Family YMCA in Kansas City, MO. He began the program in November, 2006 and offers instruction for children and adults. He is also the senior ranking student and Certified Instructor at the Kwanzaa Martial Arts Academy. Mr. Myrick has competed in several traditional and open tournaments over the years and has received numerous awards and accolades. Most recently, he competed at the IKF World Classic Tournament in Orlando, Florida. His success there led him to be crowned the 2008 IKF World Classic Super Heavyweight Champion. Mr. Myrick is currently ranked #1 internationally as an amateur in Full Contact Rules kickboxing through the IKF. He hopes that his success at the amateur level will translate into a successful professional career.

Mr. Myrick serves the community as a Firefighter/EMT for the Kansas City Fire Department. His dream is to use the discipline and knowledge gained through the tutelage of his teacher to create a positive force and influence in the lives of all citizens.
